Midnight Peak

Two of my friends in the neighborhood went with me one night this past week to catch a glimpse of the almost completed Makeover house. The officer guarding the road had told my neighbor and I one night when we were walking her dog that if we came between 10:00 pm and 2:00 am, he would let us in to see the house. We quickly let everyone on our street know and later that night we headed up there. By the time we got to the end of our road, we had quite the pack of neighbors with us. I was a little worried that we weren't going to get in because there were so many of us. But, true to his word, the officer let us all in. Here is what we saw. This was Day 3 of the construction.

They had a relief station set up in one of the yards next to the house where the volunteers meet at the beginning and end of each shift. It was so bright because of all the floodlights which allow them to work 24 hours a day that I don't know how any of the neighbors sleep. Some of the houses next door look empty which we guessed meant they were staying in hotels for the week. What a fun experience this has been for me getting to know so many neighbors!
