Zoo Visit

We couldn't have planned a better day for May Day if we had tried!  The weather is absolutely gorgeous with temps in the low 80s.  The boys were excited to head to the zoo for the morning since they hadn't been in nearly a year.  It was the first time we've went to the zoo without a stroller.  Dallin did great walking the whole time.  He never really sat in the stroller anyway.  The biggest thing I missed was having somewhere to put all my stuff.
I am so grateful we didn't miss the zoo's tulips!  They are an amazing sight since they line almost every sidewalk.  The boys were good sports about my picture taking.  It is really tough to get them to look at me and smile at the same time.

The train was a hit with Dallin as expected.  Since we got to the zoo right when it opened, we didn't have to wait in line to get on it which was a huge plus.  The other bonus in getting there so early was that the animals were all very active and out in the open.  We saw many animals up close.  We were so close to the elephants that Dallin decided he didn't like them very much.  They were a little too big and scary.

When I told Dallin we were going to the zoo today he said he wanted to see elephants, giraffes, and monkeys.  We saw all three up close!  The giraffes have a baby which was really sweet.

Owen LOVES peacocks.  He told me today they are his favorite, but I'm not sure I would go that far.  He has always thought they are pretty cool though.  They are pretty impressive with their feathers are fanned out!

Our zoo pass gets us unlimited train and carousel rides, so we were lucky enough to catch both today.  Owen really wanted to ride the eagle, but the wolf was his second choice.  Dallin wanted the tiger, but settled pretty easily with the elephant.  Dallin really enjoyed his ride and could not understand why the ride stopped.  He wasn't ready to get off yet.
