Braces!

 Trenton is going to miss his favorites indulgences over the next two years.  Candy orange slices, rolos, Reisens, Snickers, and Dots are some of his very favorite treats, but he won't be able to enjoy them for a while now that he has braces.  I decided a sugar overload a week before his braces were put on was a fun idea, so I bought all of the above mentioned candies for him as a little present.  This is his "before" picture, although his teeth already look perfectly straight since they are fixing a function problem, not a cosmetic problem.

Trenton is really tough!  The orthodontist switched his treatment plan at the last minute and made some very major changes that resulted in Trenton being unable to bite down completely, which will continue for 3 months!  It is really hard to eat very many things when you cannot bite down all the way.  Carnation Instant Breakfast and soup (and ibuprofen) have become his regular meals.  Luckily, suffering for three months means getting his braces off six months earlier, so we can do this!   I guess choosing your band colors is a big deal at his orthodontist, so Trenton chose royal blue and bright orange for his first bands.
