We thought we had our first broken bone ever in thirteen years of children. And, it is in the child we would least expect! Ashleigh almost broke her pinkie finger this afternoon at our camper. There is a ton of work to do out there now that it is springtime! We spent four days in a row out there and still have much to do! Ashleigh and Owen were trying to break large rocks into smaller pieces by dropping them on the ground. Unfortunately, Ashleigh's hand was on the ground when Owen dropped one of his rocks. Yep, it landed right on her pinkie and hurt it really bad! We have a orthopedic surgeon in our ward and we had him look at it this evening before we went to the hospital. He confirmed it needs x-rayed, but told us to just put it in a split until he can take care of it on Friday. No piano playing for a while :(
After a few tough hours, Ashleigh is back to her usual smiley self. I think it was the news that she won't have to practice the piano for several weeks that got her smiling again!
