Spring Break 2017

We had a stay-cation this year for spring break since Nathan is still recovering from his heart surgery and has little vacation time left after using a lot of it for his surgery.  One of the highlights of our week was dog sitting for a friend. The kids were so happy to have a dog for the week.  He was an easy to care for dog and Ashleigh was a huge help doing most of the work.

Dallin discovered his love of word searches over spring break.

We installed a new basketball hoop just in time for spring break, so that's where they spent their evenings.

We took the boys to the National Air Force Museum to kick off the week.  Dallin had no memory of visiting the museum in the past since it has been at least 2 1/2 years since we had been there.  It was fun to see all of the real jets and planes inside the museum.

We also visited a temporary butterfly exhibit during the week that comes around every year, but we had never made it before.

Owen was great at "catching" the butterflies.  Dallin was scared of them at first, but then desperately wanted to "catch" one.

Many of the butterflies on exhibit are camouflaged on the outside and a beautiful blue on the inside.

He finally got one!  Thank goodness!

We loved this little orange tree.

 Another one!

This one flew onto Owen's face after landing on his card.  He thought it was so funny and didn't want me to try and move it.

After checking out his face, the butterfly flew down onto his shirt.  Owen loved every second of it.

We stopped to check out the view of the Ohio River after leaving the exhibit.  Dallin was not feeling too photogenic by this point.
