Owen wanted to take this picture of him practicing his baptism, getting it just right.
Dressed in all white ready for baptism. He even remembered to wear white underwear, which had completely slipped my mind. I'm so grateful he took this sacred ordinance so seriously that he remembered he needed to wear only white on his own.
After his baptism, Owen said he could not describe how he felt because it was hard to put into words. We love that description! One memorable part of Owen's baptism was witnessing his actual baptism. Nathan wanted to be sure Owen went all the way under water so that there was no need to repeat it since the last person Nathan baptized was a very, very large woman he helped teach with the missionaries. It took him three times to get her fully under water and he honestly wasn't sure he was going to be able to do it alone. Needless to say, Nathan did not want a repeat of this, so he dunked Owen so fast and hard that it made quite a splash and Owen came up coughing. We all got a chuckle out of it and luckily Owen didn't drown.
We spent the day celebrating Owen's decision to be baptized with a fancy lunch at our new favorite restaurant and fun at an arcade/laszer tag/bowling place.
