Dallin told Santa that he wanted Pokemon cards and Dino Chargers for Christmas. His wish list kept changing slightly up until Christmas week.
We had a weird Christmas this year due to travel and Nathan's work schedule. Santa came one night a few days early, but we couldn't open the presents until after school since Nathan was gone and everyone leaves at different times in the morning. It was very strange to open presents in the daytime, but everyone was just happy to finally get to open everything! Dallin received a big chalkboard for his room, a Power Ranger playset, a Pokemon DS game, a Yokai watch, a Hot Wheel car maker, and Pokemon cards (of course!).
Owen was pretty sure he knew what he was getting from Santa this year. He could tell from the box size and the fact that it was the only thing on his wish list this year.
And he was right! He finally has his very own RC car. This is not a cheap $50 one that falls apart in a month. This one should last a lifetime (it better!). He is very excited about it and can't wait for the weather to warm up so he can get outside with it. Mom is excited for that too since he is driving it all over the house in the meantime.
Ashleigh was also very confident in what she was getting from Santa this year. She has been wanting an iPad mini for several months now and said she would buy her own with her babysitting money (she makes $50 a week, so she could have done that very quickly!) if Santa didn't bring her one. Our kids had big ticket items on their wish lists this year! I hope they know this is a unique year and that Santa is broke for next year :)
Trenton is hard to come up with ideas for and he received his big ticket item for his birthday last month (his own laptop), so he had several nice items instead of one big item this year. He received two fancy pairs of shoes he had been wanting, nice cologne, a board game, and several sweaters.
Christmas in Iowa. We weren't originally going to be able to travel to see extended family for Christmas this year due to Nathan's scheduled heart surgery, but plans changed when his surgery was unexpectedly postponed. We quickly made plans to see everyone we could over a five day period.
Iowa cousins!
