Owen has been very busy this summer trying lots of different summer camps. I decided it might be a good idea to keep Owen in some sort of routine this summer, so getting up early for camp each morning was a perfect way to give us some structure. I chose camps first based on his interests and then narrowed them based on cost. There was such a range in camp costs, and with lots of research and digging I was able to find some pretty cheap and amazing camps for our sweet boy! Our favorite was a 2-week art camp at an Art Center in a neighboring town. It was a half hour drive each way, but it was so worth it! Owen made some amazing projects and was so excited to see what they would be working on each day. We were a little nervous at first because it turned out that Owen was the only boy in his class. After just a couple of classes, he said he loved being the only boy. The girls were so cute with him. They loved seeing him walk into class each day.
This was Owen's favorite project - a castle made out of recycled materials. He spent three class days working on this masterpiece.
After the last day of camp, the art center put on a little art show of the students' work. It was very cute and thoughtful. They went all out with punch, cookies, popcorn, and juice boxes! This camp is definitely on our list for next summer, long drive and all!
