Eighth Grade Formal

Trenton went to his first formal dance this past weekend.  It was held at the high school he will be attending next year and was a chance for the students to meet kids from the other junior high.  They don't have an eighth grade graduation here, so this dance takes the place of that.  It is so easy to get a boy ready for a dance - we just had to buy a tie.  He got dressed about 20 minutes before the guys showed up.  Easy!  Meanwhile, I know the girls spent hours getting ready.

Here are Trenton's closest friends.  I think it's funny there are way more girls than guys, but the girls don't seem to mind.  All of these friends are either in band with Trenton or in the advanced social studies class with him. Funny thing about this group is that the girl in the shorter pink dress lives directly behind us.  The guys hung out in our house while the girls were in the house behind us getting ready.  Then we all met up at her house for pictures since she lives in front of a small pond.  Great picture spot!

The guys!

 Cute girls!

Trenton is the character in this bunch.  He is always being completely nuts.  He struck up this pose in front of about twenty parents.

 Trenton and Camryn.

She is nuts just like him :)
