Owen and Dallin have been playing together a little more lately since we have been staying home a lot more these days to keep little Dallin healthy before his surgery. Dallin used to follow Owen around copying him and wanting to do what he was doing. Now Owen enjoys playing with Dallin, but this usually involves silliness or craziness like jumping off a mountain of couch cushions or taking their shirts halfway off and spinning around the kitchen until they are dizzy. The last two days they have been having Nerf gun wars too. Dallin thinks anything Owen is up to has to be fun. Maybe I should be worried, but it is nice to have them playing together happily just as long as no one gets hurt.
We did finally break down and leave the house yesterday to get haircuts. They were in desperate need of them! Dallin's hair grows faster than anyone, so he could pretty much use a haircut at any given time. Owen was excited to take his class bear with him to get a haircut. Owen is the Star of the Week this week, which means he gets to have Bubba Bear at home with him the whole week. It is such a big deal to bring Bubba Bear home, let me tell you! We have a journal that we have to write down everything we do all week with Bubba. In addition to bringing Bubba Bear home, Owen gets to take in an item each day all week for show-n-tell. Yesterday he took his two favorite Skylanders Giants and today he took seashells from Florida. He doesn't want to take in any of his trophies because he said everyone brings in trophies. I think he is taking in his National Geographic Angry Birds book tomorrow since it is his favorite book right now. On Friday, I get to come into the classroom and read Owen's favorite fiction book to the class. He also is supposed to bring in a snack that day to share with the class. We are bringing in Angry Bird cupcakes as the snack to celebrate his birthday a few days early since Dallin's surgery is on the day of actual birthday.
Dallin's haircut. He is very happy to have his "tail" gone. His hair grows really dark and shoots down the middle of his neckline in the back making it look like he has a tail. He told Dad that the haircut lady cut off his tail with scissors. Poor kiddo!
